Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Motocare handles information when you use our iOS app. We've written it to be clear and readable — not as a legal wall.
Introduction
Motocare(“we”, “our”, or “us”) is an iOS application for tracking vehicle fuel and maintenance records. We take your privacy seriously and handle your data responsibly.

Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's functionality. This includes:
- Account identifier: If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique, anonymised identifier from Apple to recognise your account. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
- Vehicle data: Make, model, year, and other details you choose to enter about your vehicles.
- Fuel records: Fill-up entries you log manually, including date, odometer reading, fuel volume, and cost.
- Maintenance records: Service entries you create, including the type of service, date, mileage, cost, and any notes.
- Analytics data: We may use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymised, aggregated usage data — such as which features are used and how frequently. This data cannot identify you personally.
Sign in with Apple
Signing in with Apple is optional. If you choose to use it:
- Apple handles authentication on its own servers. We receive only a stable, anonymised user identifier — not your Apple ID or password.
- You may optionally share your name and email address with us. If you use Apple's email relay, we will receive a relay address, not your actual email.
- Signing in allows your data to sync across your devices via iCloud. Without signing in, data stays only on the device where it was entered.
iCloud and CloudKit Storage
Motocareuses Apple's CloudKit framework to store and sync your vehicle, fuel, and maintenance records. This means:
- Your records are stored in your personal iCloud account, managed by Apple — not on our own servers.
- Apple's iCloud Terms and Privacy Policy govern how this data is stored, protected, and retained on Apple's infrastructure.
- If you sign out of iCloud or disable iCloud Drive, your data will no longer sync but will remain on the device where it was entered.
Analytics
We may use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to understand how the app is used in aggregate. This helps us identify issues and improve the experience.
Analytics data is anonymised and aggregated. It does not include your vehicle records, fuel logs, or any personally identifiable information. We do not use analytics data for advertising or profiling.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide core app functionality — logging, reminders, and history.
- Identify your account when you sign in with Apple.
- Sync your records across your Apple devices via iCloud.
- Understand general app usage patterns through aggregated analytics, so we can improve the product.
- Respond to support requests you send us by email.
We do not use your data for advertising, behavioural profiling, or any purpose beyond providing and improving the app.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing.
We may share data in limited circumstances:
- Apple:Authentication is handled by Apple. Vehicle record data is stored via Apple's CloudKit. Apple's privacy policy governs how they handle this.
- Firebase / Google: If enabled, aggregated and anonymised analytics data is processed by Firebase. No personally identifiable data is included.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by applicable law or to protect the safety and rights of users or the public.
Data Retention
Your vehicle and service records are stored in iCloud and remain there until you delete them from within the app or remove the app and its associated iCloud data.
If you request account deletion, we will remove any account identifiers we hold. Aggregated analytics data may be retained by analytics providers but cannot be linked back to you.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data — including the right to access, correct, or delete it.

Account Deletion
You can request deletion of your Motocare account at any time — either from within the app under Settings, or by contacting us directly. See the Delete Account page for full details on what is removed and how to submit a request.
Children's Privacy
Motocare is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date shown at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back periodically.
Continued use of the app after changes are published means you accept the updated policy.
